CHEM 211 Fundamentals of Organic Chemistry ICredit 3 Honors Topics presented in this course include molecular structure, isomerism, and stereochemistry. The chemistry of alkanes, alcohols, ethers, alkenes, and aromatic hydrocarbons will also be discussed. Interpretation of spectra of major functional classes will be explained. Prerequisite(s): The successful completion of CHEM 111 and CHEM 112 . Pre/Corequisite(s): CHEM 213 or consent of instructor Three hours of lecture, a one-hour discussion, and one three-hour laboratory (see below) must be taken concurrently.
