SPED 628 Communication Skills in Special Education

This course is designed to prepare both special and general education teachers to work together in the identification, instruction, and assessment of students with disabilities. An emphasis will be placed on effective personal and interpersonal communication strategies useful in collaboration with parents, students and other educators to best meet the needs of all students. It will include current information on the nature of disabilities, legal aspects of teacher education majors. It will have a required field experience in a Professional Development School.
Prerequisite(s): The student must have Teacher Candidacy Status.
