PHAS 672 Applied Ethics and Law Credit 2 This course addresses biomedical ethical concepts as related to practical medical decision-making and problem-solving. Students study risk management strategies and the legal definitions of, and their responsibilities toward, informed consent and confidentiality. Ethical principles of beneficence, non-maleficence, autonomy, and justice will be discussed. Prerequisite(s): Admissions to the professional and didactic phase of the UMES Physician Assistant Program.
