SPED 660 Assistive Technology for Special Education Credit 3 This course is designed to provide special education teachers and related services personnel with advanced strategies for using technology to enhance instruction for students with disabilities. Particular emphasis will be placed on the Universal Design for Learning while understanding and applying technology integration in ways that will enable participants to serve as a change agent within their school or agency. Students will gain hands-on skills in designing technology-based instructional materials for students with a wide range of exceptionalities. Exposure to adaptive and assistive technologies, as well as state-of-the-art software and hardware will take place during the course. Prerequisite(s): Admission to Teacher Candidacy in the Teacher Education Graduate Program.
