EDCI 406 Classroom ManagementCredit 3 This course introduces the basic theories, techniques, and skills necessary to successfully manage small and large groups of diverse student populations at the elementary and secondary school levels. The focus of the course is on the study and application of effective individual and group management techniques based upon behavioral, cognitive, environmental, developmental, and psychoanalytic theories. Special emphasis is placed on developing supportive learning environments that promote self-esteem and motivate success. Students will have a required field experience in the local public schools. Prerequisite(s): Teacher Candidacy Status.
