SWAH 201 Intermediate Swahili ICredit 3 Students will continue their exploration of the history, cultures, and languages of Swahili people. Students will build on their understanding of East Africa and the Indian Ocean world. This course helps students understand that Swahili language contains its own history in its incorporation of Arabic and other African, Asian, and European languages. Through understanding more about Swahili people, their history, and their culture, students can experience another half of the world. Students can see that Swahili is related to other Bantu languages throughout Africa. Students can continue having fun making mistakes as they enjoy learning to speak, read, write, and understand more Swahili language. Prerequisite(s): HIST 275 or any SWAHILI course
