MATH 102 Applications of College MathematicsCredit 3 This course reviews sets and logic, functions and graphing, and solutions of sets of linear equations and inequalities. It includes an introduction to linear programming, combinatorial principles, and counting, with applications in the development of probability theory and statistics, numeration systems, and computer mathematics. All topics are covered making use of current educational technology, both from the point of view of their significance within mathematics and other applicability in modeling the world using mathematics. Prerequisite(s): MATH 099 with a grade of C or better or a score of 40 or higher on the mathematics placement assessment. Satisfies GEN ED Area IV: Mathematics.
