The Accounting Minor is available to all students in the University. It is especially useful to students who have discovered accounting while on a different career path and who think they might want to explore the profession after graduation. The minor prepares students for many accounting related jobs and forms the core of what courses would be necessary if they decided on further study.
Prerequisites are a grade of C or higher in the following:
ENGL 101 Principles of Composition I (03)
ENGL 102 Principles of Composition II (03)
MATH 109 College Algebra (03)
ACCT 201 Introductory Financial Accounting (03) (If taken at UMES the prerequisites for this class are ENGL 101, ENGL 102, MATH 109)
ACCT 202 Introductory Corporate and Managerial Accounting (03) (If taken at UMES prerequisites for this class is ACCT 201)
