CHEM 341 Biochemistry I

This course is a study of the physical and chemical properties of the four major biomolecules: carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, enzymes, and nucleic acid. The course includes an introduction to intermediary metabolic pathways and their involvement in the generation and use of energy. The student will learn how to incorporate basic chemical principles to the biological function of organisms. Prerequisite(s): Passing CHEM 211 CHEM 212 H with a letter grade of C or better. Corequisite(s): CHEM 343  or consent of instructor. This course consists of three hours of lecture per week.
