The Post-Baccalaureate Certificate (PBC) in Work-Based Learning (WBL) and Career Counseling is a 12-credit certificate that has been designed for individuals interested in becoming a Work-Based Learning Coordinator and Career Counselor at the middle and/or high school level. The PBC in WBL and Career Counseling courses focus on four topics: a) coordination of work-based learning programs, b) work-based learning experiences, c) career counseling for workplace and post-secondary readiness, and d) trends, issues, curriculum, and instruction practices in WBL. In addition to the four courses in this PBC, students must meet the requirements specified in COMAR if they wish to receive their WBL Coordinator endorsement from the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE). Students must meet all university graduate admissions requirements and receive a grade of B or better in each course. The PBC is ideal for educators and school counselors currently working in a Maryland public school system looking to enhance their WBL knowledge and career counseling skills, or pursue a position as a WBL Coordinator and/or Career Counselor.
