The Construction Engineering and Management (CEMT) curriculum is a 4+1 program of study offering both a Bachelor of Science degree in four years and a Master of Science degree with one additional year of academic study. This interdisciplinary curriculum provides a background in several physical and applied sciences and construction engineering. Technical content is balanced by courses in business management, communications, humanities, and social sciences. The diversity of this program provides the technical base needed for immediate employment as well as the managerial concepts for career development.
The goal of the Construction Engineering and Management program is the preparation of well educated professionals for challenging careers in the construction industry. Emphasis is placed on preparing professionals who will be involved from the project’s inception and planning to building and opening the site. Graduates qualify for employment with general contracting and subcontracting firms, engineering firms, and in government.
The proposed Construction Engineering and Management degree is designed to be an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accreditable program.
