AVSC 452 Certified Flight Instructor Airplane - FlightCredit 1 Flight instruction required by the FAA for the student to become a FAA certified fight instructor is the focus of this course. The course includes: fundamentals of instruction; technical subject areas; preflight preparation; preflight lessons on a maneuver to be performed in flight; preflight procedures; airport and seaplane base operations; takeoffs, landings, and go-arounds; fundamentals of flight; performance maneuvers; ground reference maneuvers; slow flight, stalls and spins; basic instrument maneuvers; emergency operations; and post flight procedures. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will meet the standards to pass the FAA practical test for Certified Flight Instructor-Airplane and attain a Certified Flight Instructor Certificate with the appropriate Rating. A Flight Lab Fee is charged for this course. Flight Lab Fees are subject to change. Refer to the Aviation Sciences Student Handbook for updated fees and policies. A Transportation Security Administration (TSA) clearance or proof of US citizenship is required. Students must see Aviation Science Coordinator to register for flight courses.
