BIOL 436 General EndocrinologyCredit 3 This course provides discussions of the importance of hormones in regulating body functions, integrating biological systems, protecting the body against stress and various diseases, and maintaining day-to-day life processes. The course also emphasizes a review of concepts relative to mechanisms of hormone action. Consideration is given to classic endocrine case studies. Prerequisite(s): BIOL 111 (grade of C or better). A course in Cell Biology is recommended. This course is comprised of three hours of lecture per week.
