The course is interdisciplinary in nature with emphasis on preparing graduates for productive personal and professional lives. Course content includes the following: orientation to The University; the role and responsibilities of the students; the student as a member of the University team; expectations of the faculty and staff; effective study techniques; time management, conflict management; stress management; test taking skills; and learning style assessment. Determination/perseverance, time on task and help-seeking are emphasized. The faculty facilitator relies heavily on guest lectures for selected topics. Satisfies GEN ED Area VI: Emerging Issues.
