CHEM 211 Fundamentals of Organic Chemistry ICredit 3 Honors Topics presented in this course include molecular and electronic structure, isomerism, orbital theory and stereochemistry. The chemistry of alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, and alkyl halides as well as modern methods of organic analysis are discussed. Honors students will complete an honors contract in this course. Prerequisite: A grade of ‘C’ or better is required in CHEM 112 and CHEM 114 . Co-requisite: CHEM 213 . Prerequisite(s): A grade of ‘C’ or better is required in CHEM 112 and CHEM 114 Corequisite(s): CHEM 213 Three hours of lecture, a one-hour discussion, and one three-hour laboratory (see below) must be taken concurrently.
