HORT 423 Horticultural CropsCredit 3 This course presents the scientific aspects of commercial fruit and vegetable production. Principles of economics and practices in the global marketing of vegetables, fruits and nuts are discussed in relation to the maintenance of a safe food supply. General aspects of regional vegetables and fruits are given special emphasis for the Delmarva Peninsula. Prerequisite(s): HORT 203 or permission of instructor. Two hours lecture and two hours laboratory per week.
