MATH 309 Introduction to ProbabilityCredit 3 This course covers sample spaces, axioms, and elementary theorems of probability; it also covers combinatorics, dependence, conditional probability, random variables, probability distributions which include the Binomial, Geometric, Poisson, Negative Binomial, Hypogeometric, Uniform, Normal, Gamma, and Chi-Square, expectation, mean variance, and moment generating functions, Chebychev’s inequality; examples of stochastic processes are also studied. Prerequisite: MATH 211 with a grade of ‘C’ or better. Prerequisite(s): MATH 211 with a grade of C or better
