AMIC 488 Experimental Course: Rapid Methods for Pathogen DetectionCredit 3 Hybrid This course will provide basic knowledge and practice al experience with alternative and contemporary methods for rapid detection, enumeration, isolation and characterization of foodborne and waterborne microorganisms and their products. In this hybrid course, students will perform experiments using conventional and rapid methods in the context of field and greenhouse studies on bacterial survival on leafy greens, tomatoes, melons for pathogen detection (presence/prevalence and identification. Good knowledge of Biology and Chemistry is recommended. Prerequisite(s): Senior Standing.
