NUDT 350 Nutrition Assessment

Credit 3
This course introduces the student to the fundamentals of nutrition assessment and its application in clinical, community, and research settings.  Course content includes a discussion of the evolution of dietary deficiencies and the difference between nutritional screening and assessment. Students will be introduced to different methods and tools for both physical and laboratory nutrition assessment, and their interpretation, and application to the nutrition care process. Students will be expected to conduct a nutrition focused physical exam at the conclusion of this course. The course is open to junior or senior level students in the nutrition/dietetic concentration. Majors only.   Prerequisite(s):  NUDT 305
