BIOL 436 General Endocrinology

This course provides discussions of the importance of hormones in regulating body functions, integrating biological systems, protecting the body against stress and various diseases, and maintaining day-to-day life processes. The course also emphasizes a review of concepts relative to mechanisms of hormone action. Consideration is given to classic endocrine case studies. Prerequisite(s): BIOL 111  (grade of C or better). A course in Cell Biology is recommended. This course is comprised of three hours of lecture per week.
