MUSI 103 Music Theory and Application IICredit 4 This course is a continuation of the study of the materials and basic stylistic elements of music. Skills in ear-training, sight-singing, melodic dictation, and intervallic and triadic recognition are developed. Through original composition and analysis of music literature, students are introduced to basic techniques of melody-writing, counterpoint, harmony, form, and orchestrations. Prerequisite(s): MUSI 102 with minimum grade of C, or consent of the instructor. Three hours lecture and two hours laboratory per week.
