EDSP 403 Materials for Teaching Reading and Language for Students with Disabilities

Credit 3
This course introduces various materials that can be used to provide a variety of reading and language experiences to students with disabilities at the elementary and secondary levels. Both teacher-made and commercial materials are discussed. The use of children’s literature, community resources, and parental support will also be explored. Students will have a required field experience in the local public schools. This course is taken concurrently with EDSP 402 , EDSP 422 , and PSYC 406 . Prerequisite(s): Teacher Candidacy Status and a “C” or better in EDSP 401 .
